I've added another test user to our setup with the following lines in the sip.conf :
[1001]
type=friend
nat=yes
username=1001
context=phones
host=dynamic
secret=4321
Perhaps you'd like to try to get XLite to connect on your end? The following settings should work, although the menus are probably slightly different in Windows.
Display Name: John (can be whatever you want)
User name: 1001
Password: 4321
Authorization user name: 1001
Domain: [IP of the server]
Once you get it to connect, dial "500" and see if you hear the "weasels" message.
OK, set up my 1001 user and heard the weasels message on a windows box. Tried to add XLite to a local linux box. They are only up to version 2 on linux, and in the brief amount of time i devoted to it, didn't get it to run.
